Communication. Not much in this world can happen without it. Yet day after day, millions of people around the world communicate in spite of the fact that they do not share a common language.

And it's largely thanks to interpreters.

Whether it's rendering the nurse's encouraging words as a woman delivers a baby in the local hospital, carefully conveying the messages of foreign diplomats, converting the judge's decision accurately into another language in the courtroom, or interpreting a phone call during a life-threatening emergency, interpreters are helping our world go 'round.

The From Our Lips to Your Ears project is a testament to the important work that interpreters do each and every day.

This compendium of real-life interpreter anecdotes is a first-of-its-kind project that aims to memorialize the experiences of interpreters in order to enable readers to gain a greater appreciation of this incredibly complex and fascinating profession.
Interpreters are helping our world go 'round.
Isn't it time the world knew about
it?
